Arsenal beat Leicester City 3-1 at the Emirates in the Premier League on Monday to extend their winning streak to 10 games.

Mesut Ozil returned from injury and was given the captains armband against the Foxes.

Ozil put on a magnificent performance, scoring the equaliser, playing a key role in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring the Gunners second and setting up the Gabon international with the third.

Ozil was directly involved in the second goal threading through a beautifully timed through ball to Bellerin who setup Pierre-Emerick Aubemayang.

The playmaker of Turkish origin shared a photograph of himself celebrating alongside a caption which read: ‘Proud captain’.

Ozil also revealed that he thought Arsenal played some ‘sexy football’.

The 30-year-old now has five goals in nine appearances this season and also provided his first assist.

Ozil became the highest performing Germany international in Premier League history in the process taking his overall tally to 30.

This was perhaps his finest moment over the course of the 90 minutes but there were so many fabulous passes and of course his goal that it was pretty difficult to pick just one.

The victory moved the Gunners just two points behind league leaders Manchester City in the Premier League table.

Arsenal will take on Sporting Lisbon next in the Europa League on Thursday.
