Robin van Persie is a name all too familiar to the Manchester United faithful. The Dutch striker played a key role in the Red Devils wining the Premier League title for a 20th time and scored 58 times in 105 appearances during his time at the club.
Van Persie will be back at Old Trafford on Thursday only this time not in a United shirt. The 33-year-old will be representing Fenerbahce in the Europa League clash.
Former teammate Wayne Rooney revealed that he is looking forward to the match up and shared a picture of the two forwards hugging each other – back at a time both were on top of their game.
Rooney has come under fire from sections of the press for his form this season but he may be in contention to start against Fenerbahce as Jose Mourinho plans for a tough run of fixtures in Europe and the Premier League.
