Man City star playmaker Ilkay Gundogan watched Sunday’s clash with Liverpool from the stands.
The 29-year-old was forced off with an injury during Man City’s win over Hoffenheim last week.
Gundogan took to social media prior to City’s clash with Liverpool to confirm that he had suffered a hamstring injury.
“It’s time for the big clash! Come on City! What a pity I can’t take part today due to a hamstring injury, but I’ll be back soon!”
He wished his side good luck but was vague regarding his return date. Manager Pep Guardiola opted to field Bernado Silva is Gundogan’s place.
