Arsenal shared a tweet on their official account today wishing followers a happy Eid and Mesut Ozil’s iconic image praying in the centre circle with his hands held out was used in the image shared below the message.

The Germany international of Turkish origin is a muslim and also shared an Eid message to his followers via Twitter.

Ozil also featured in former Gunner Lukas Podolski’s Eid tweet alongside Liverpool star – also a Germany international of Turkish origin – with a message in both Turkish and English.

Eid Mubarak or Blessed Eid is a traditional Muslim greeting reserved to celebrate the end of the month of Ramadan.

 

Ozil and Can are members of the Turkish community of Germany which has an estimated population of 3-4 million.
