Lukas Podolski scored on the weekend in the 1-1 draw against Mersin Idman Yurdu and is expected to keep his place in the team going into the Atleti game.
Podolski has scored twice in four games this season and won his first piece of silverware on his debut in the Turkish Super Cup.
The Germany international will play his first Champions League game since leaving Arsenal should he feature today.
Experienced playmaker Wesley Sneijder is almost certain to start while on-loan Manchester City defender Denayer is also expected in the starting line-up.
