Turkey held world champions France to a 1-1 draw in the Euro 2020 Group H qualifier at the Stade de France on Monday.
Leicester City star Caglar Soyuncu started alongside Juventus defender Merih Demiral as Turkey’s centre-back pairing.
Soyuncu reacted to the result on social media by posting a photograph of himself kissing the Turkish flag on his jersey alongside the caption, ‘Proud!’.
And he has every reason to feel proud as Turkey managed to remain Group H leaders, ahead of France who they have taken four points off over the past two head-to-head games.

The defensive duo put on an impressive display against the French who kept 63% possession and 23 attempts.
Soyuncu helped keep wave after wave of attacks from France at bay. For all their possession and dominance the home side failed to open up a well-organised, disciplined Turkish defence.
The young defender could have done better in stopping Olivier Giroud scoring the opener from a well-worked corner but otherwise, he rarely put a foot wrong.
Turkey take on Iceland and Andorra next in November needing just a point to secure qualification.
Soyuncu meanwhile, will return to England ahead of Leicester City’s next game against Burnley at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
