PSG join race for 20-year-old wonder-kid who dreams of playing for Man United boss Jose Mourinho

PSG have joined the race for Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu according to reports in France.

French sports magazine Onze Mondial have revealed that PSG are plotting a move for the Freiburg wonder-kid.

The Ligue 1 outfit want Soyuncu as a defensive reinforcement to support Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe.

The report also states that Monaco, Lille, Borussia Dortmund, Mönchengladbach and Bayern Munich are all interested in signing him.

The 20-year-old defender has been in great form for Freiburg this season making an impressive transition from second-tier Turkish football to the Bundesliga.

Turkish-Football reported that that Manchester United and Manchester City have been scouting the young defender.

Soyuncu has even revealed that he admires United head coach Jose Mourinho and would like to play for him in the future.

“I admire Jose Mourinho, not just his football but his philosophy,” Soyuncu said.

“I would like to work with him in the future.”

Soyuncu’s agent Mustafa Doğru meanwhile confirmed that City are interested and underlined that his client is a Pep Guardiola type of player.

Doğru was quoted as saying: “Manchester City have made contact to us through a third party.

“Caglar is the type of defender that suits Pep Guardiola’s style and his goal is to play Premier League football but he is focused on Freiburg until the end of the season. 

“We will not discuss future plans until the end of the season.”

Tuttomercatoweb meanwhile recently reported that Fiorentına are also interested in the young centre-back.

Freiburg do not intend to sell Soyuncu at the end of the season but could have a battle on their hands if the clubs being mentioned do make offers this summer.

Soyuncu has one assist in 22 league games for Freiburg. Despite his age and the face he joined from Altinordu the youngster has managed to establish himself as a first-team player.

The youngster has also established himself as a regular call-up for the Turkish national team and already has three caps.
