The 22-year-old keeper failed to make an appearance for the West Ham senior side during his time at the club.
The former West Ham academy player was highly rated as a youth and listed as a bright prospect by FIFA ahead of the 2009 U-17 World Cup.
“Turkey’s goalkeeper Deniz Mehmet showed just how much he has learnt at West Ham United’s Academy, where he has followed in the footsteps of luminaries such as Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick and Rio Ferdinand,” read a statement on FIFA.com
Mehmet has made four appearances for Kayserispor this season, conceding just one goal against Fenerbahçe and keeping three clean sheets in his other games.
The Turkish U21 keeper is free to talk directly with other clubs due to his contract set to run out at the end of the season.
Mehmet was born in London, England but plays under a domestic status in Turkey due to being of Turkish origin.
