Glasgow Rangers face competition from Italy for Trabzonspor striker Caleb Ekuban according to the Aksam newspaper.

Per the source, Napoli have entered the race for the in-form striker.

The Turkish paper claim that Rangers and Napoli will continue scouting Ekuban until the end of the season.

However, they could struggle to send any scouts in person due to the coronavirus disruptions.

Turkey have suspended flights from Italy and the UK as a precautionary measure against the spread of the virus.

The latest transfer rumor follows reports in Turkey suggesting that Rangers could be prepared to pay as high as €10m for the striker and that Steven Gerrard is keen on the move as a potential replacement for Morales – should he leave this summer.

As with just about everything in football right now there is a lot of uncertainty.

The Scottish and Italian leagues are suspended and there is no guarantee when – or if – they will be finished when the regular season is scheduled to end.

UEFA announced that Euro 2020 has been postponed for one year and moved to 2021.

In Turkey meanwhile, the domestic league is still running but games are going ahead without fans.

Trabzonspor signed Ekuban from Leeds United for just €1m last summer after he spent the previous season on loan at the Super Lig outfit.

Ekuban is currently one of the most in-form players in the league with two goals and three assists in his last six games.
