Rangers receive €7m bid for 18-goal striker from Chinese club – Fenerbahce also interested

Fenerbahce looks set to face serious competition in the race to sign Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.

Yesterday we reported that the Yellow Canaries’ newly appointed director of football Damien Comolli will travel to Scotland to told talks with Rangers for the Colombian striker.

However, according to the Turkish outlet Fanatik, an unnamed Chinese club have tabled a €7 million offer for the 21-year-old.

The report goes onto state that Rangers have turned down the bid from China and are holding out for an improved offer.

The latest news comes as a blow to Fenerbahce who are currently being monitored by UEFA for Financial Fair Play and are unlikely to be able to better an offer coming from the Chinese Super League.

Morelos was Rangers top goalscorer last season with 18 goals in all competitions.

Fenerbahce will participate in the UEFA Champions League next season after finishing the Turkish Super Lig in second place. The Istanbul based club elected a new president in Ali Koc and are expected to revamp their squad this summer.
