Rangers have ruled out a loan move for left-back Ridvan Yilmaz to his former club, Besiktas, in the January transfer window.
While Turkish media outlet Yenicag Gazetesi reported that a loan deal was being considered, Rangers have decided against sanctioning the move due to the club’s current defensive injury crisis.

With several key defenders sidelined, including John Souttar, Leon Balogun, and James Tavernier, Yilmaz has recently been called upon to fill in at right-back.
His performances in recent matches have convinced the Rangers management to retain his services for the remainder of the season.
Although Yilmaz has struggled for regular playing time this season, his versatility and experience will be crucial for Rangers as they continue to compete in the Europa League and the Scottish Cup.
A move to Besiktas could be revisited in the summer transfer window, but for now, Rangers will be keeping hold of the Turkish international.
Yilmaz has one assist in 15 appearanes in all competitions for Rangers this season and is under contract until 2027.
