Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger remains hopeful that his star playmaker Mesut Ozil will comit his future to the north London based club.
The 29-year-old has entered the final five months of his contract with Arsenal and is free to hold contract talks with foreign clubs. Ozil could end up leaving the club for free in the Summer.
Wenger recently saw Alexis Sanchez move to rivals Man United on a cut-price deal after failing to pen a new deal.
However, Wenger is hoping Ozil puts pen-to-paper on a new Arsenal contract in the coming weeks.

“Our intention is to keep Ozil at the club, hopefully, we will do that very soon,” Wenger reporters.
“Not close enough to be optimistic and not far enough to be pessimistic.
“The vibes I get from his commitment, his focus, his desire – he behaves like someone who is ready to commit.
“But after that negotiations are what they are.”
“We are not close enough to tell you yes, he will do it.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal’s bitter rivals Manchester United have been linked with a move for Ozil in recent weeks. The Germany international previously played under Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho during the duo’s spell at Real Madrid.
Ozil played a starring role during Arsenal’s 2-1 win over London rivals Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday night.
