Revealed: Adebayor dedicates hat-trick to three Arsenal legends

Emmanuel Adebayor scored his first hat-trick for Basaksehir in the Istanbul derby against Galatasaray.

The Togo international star found the back of the net three times in the 4-0 victory over the Lions.

Adebayor told reporters after the game that he dedicated the hat-trick to the great players who he has played alongside and learned form.

The experienced striker picked out three Arsenal legends in particular, Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry and Patrick Viera.

“I think it was my first hat-trick since Real Madrid, I owe it to the great players I played with like Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Patrick Viera and Ronaldo, this is for them and what I learned from them,” Adebayor told reporters.

The former Arsenal man scored a hat-trick against Blackburn Rovers and Derby County for the Gunners.

Adebayor now has six goals in seven appearances in all competitions this season.

The 33-year-old has five goals in five league games.

The victory moved 2nd placed Basaksehir six points clear of 3rd placed Fenerbahce and within five points of leaders Besiktas.
