Agent of Bayer Leverkusen star Bektas Demirtas has refused to comment on interest from Chelsea for his client Hakan Calhanoglu.
Demirtas responded to reports that Chelsea are interested in signing Calhanoglu by avoiding answering the question and throwing a curveball, revealing that Atletico Madrid made an offer over the summer which was rejected by Bayer Leverkusen.

The agent did however, state that the situation has changed since last summer and that Calhanoglu could leave at the end of the season.
“It is said that Hakan is on the radar of Chelsea, what I will comment on is that Atletico Madrid tried to transfer Calhanoglu but the Bayer Leverkusen has said no. Now the situation has changed and Calhanoglu can soon say goodbye,” Demirtas was quoted as saying by the Italian version of Eurosport.
This is not the first time Calhanoglu has been linked with a move to the Premier League leaders.
Calhanoglu was quoted as saying: “God willing, I will be a Chelsea player next season.” (Fanatik).
The Turkish international later distanced himself from the quotes but a source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football that Chelsea have been keeping tabs on him.
Calhanoglu is currently suspended from playing domestic and international football due to a FIFA ban imposed on the Turkish international over a payment dispute with Trabzonspor from when he was aged just 17.
FIFA issued the ban due to a payment he and his agent received from Trabzonspor when he was aged 17.
Trabzonspor argue that they paid both Calhanoglu and his father – who was his agent – €100,000 each to sign for the club on a professional contract.
The free-kick maestro ended up joining Karlsruher instead and Trabzonspor have been appealing to the courts against the decision ever since.
Calhanoglu had been in great form for Bayer until his suspension, scoring seven times and providing seven assists in all competitions.
