Revealed: Agent responds to reports of Tottenham striking £8m deal 19-year-old wonder-kid who has been scouted by Man United
Tottenham were reported to have struck an £8 million transfer deal for Basaksehir wonder-kid Cengiz Under according to reports from Turkey yesterday.
Radyospor claimed that negotiations between Tottenham and Basaksehir had reached a successful conclusion.
Turkish-Football can confirm that while Tottenham are interested in Under a deal has not been agreed.
Under’s agent Omer Koray Uzun has revealed that there is currently no agreement on the table.
“There is no agreement right now with any club, there are several clubs from England, Germany and France scouting Under but no deal,” Uzun was quoted as saying.
Basaksehir president Goksel Gumusdag also underlined that they have not yet reached a deal.
“There is no deal at this moment with Tottenham, that is all I can say,” Gumusdag said.
The head of the Istanbul based outfit did recently confirm that scouts from the Premier League have been keeping tabs on the 19-year-old.
“There were scouts from Premier League scouts and La Liga teams at the Besiktas derby,”Gumusdag was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.
“I will reveal the details at the end of the season as I do not want to distract the team.
“We do not want to sell Under but will discuss this once the season is over.”
Manchester United have also been among the Premier League sides monitoring Under.
United’s Eastern European chief scout Krsto Kilibarda was spotted at a Basaksehir game two weeks ago.
Under has been a key player in the Istanbul minnows miraculous title challenge which lasted until the penultimate week of the league.
Basaksehir also have the chance to win their first major trophy when they take on Konyaspor in the Turkish Cup final.
The 19-year-old has a total of nine goals and seven assists in all competitions this season.
