Revealed: Arsenal Star Becomes Only Player To Create Over 1000 Goalscoring Chances In 5 Big Leagues

Arsenal fans have had a lot to cheer about over the past week, well apart from the Swansea City defeat.

The Gunners welcomed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to North London and the club followed that up with Mesut Ozil signing a contract extension.

Ozil was expected to leave the North London based outfit at the end of the season after letting his contract run down.

The playmaker of Turkish origin would have been a free transfer at the end of the season had he not struck a new deal.

Arsenal agreed to make Ozil their highest paid player ever on a £350,000 a-week contract deal.

Opta revealed a stat which gives a glimpse into why the Gunners were so keen on a new agreement.

Ozil is the only player to have created over 1000 goalscoring chances in the big 5 European leagues since his league debut in August 2006.

Ozil has also made 49 assists since his debut in 2013 which is more than any other Premier League player since then.

The Germany international has won three FA Cup trophies since joining Arsenal and has also created the highest number of chances in the league (458) since making his debut.
