Revealed: Chelsea legend convinced Swansea striker to leave
Swansea City striker Bafatimbi Gomis arrived in Turkey today ahead of completing his Galatasaray transfer.
Gomis spoke to a large crowd that gathered at Istanbul Ataturk airport to welcome him to the club.
The powerful striker revealed that it was Chelsea legend Didier Drogba who convinced him to leave Swansea.
“It was my friend Drogba who told me all about Galatasaray, he convinced me to leave Swansea and let me know that Galatasaray are the biggest team in Turkey,” Gomis was.
“My friend Chedjou also said similar things.”

Drogba enjoyed a brief stint at Galatasaray but still managed to establish himself as a cult figure.
The former Chelsea man won the league title, the Turkish Cup and Turkish Super Cup during his time at the club, scoring 20 times and providing 13 assists in 53 games.
The Istanbul giants will pay Swansea City a £2.2 million transfer fee for Gomis.
The 31-year-old striker will earn £2.6 million per-season on a three-year deal.
Gomis is coming off the back of a successful loan spell at Marseille where he scored 21 times in 34 games.
The experienced forward has 12 international caps for France, scoring three times for his national team.
In total Gomis has scored 188 times and provided 45 assists in 522 appearances in all competitions.
