Revealed: John Barnes does not believe Liverpool star will join a ‘better’ club like Barcelona or Real Madrid
Liverpool legend John Barnes does not believe that Emre Can will join a club better than the Reds.
Barnes revealed that he does not think Can will join a team like Real Madrid or Barcelona.
The former Reds striker underlined that Jurgen Klopp is one of Can and that he is sure the club will be able to extend his contract if that is indeed what the German manager wants.

“Emre Can is one that the manager likes and from a contractual situation, there are lots of reasons why a player won’t immediately sign. Will he go on to a club that’s better than Liverpool? A Real Madrid or Barcelona? Probably not,” John Barnes was quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.
“If Klopp wants to keep Can, the club will do whatever it takes, I’m sure.”
Can has just over 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to sign an extension.
Ambiguity over Can’s future at the club remains as the Reds may be forced to sell the in form midfielder if an agreement is not reached.
The 23-year-old is expected to hold talks over his future with Liverpool now that the Premier League season is over.
Can ended the season in great form, starting in the last 12 league games, playing an important run in the Reds securing a top-four spot and booking Champions League football next season.
The Turkish origin midfielder will join the Germany national team for the Confederations Cup and miss the start of the pre-season for Liverpool.
