Revealed: Liverpool have been contacted by Juventus for star midfielder with 12 months remaining on contract, Reds want £26m

Italian champions Juventus have been closely linked with a move for star midfielder Emre Can over recent weeks.

Can’s representatives were reported to have offered their client out to Juventus according to Calciomercato.

II Messaggero meanwhile also claim that the there has been contact between Liverpool and Juventus.

Per the source, the Reds want £26 million for the powerful midfielder.

Italian journalist and beIN reporter Tancredi Palmeri is now reporting that Juventus have contacted Liverpool for Can.

Can has established himself as a fan favourite among the Reds faithful and head coach Jurgen Klopp.

“After his bicycle kick probably everyone wants him to stay,” Klopp was quoted as saying in the Guardian.

“I think it is no secret how much I like Emre. He likes the club and that is a completely normal situation. We are in talks and there is absolutely no pressure, it is all good.”

The midfielder of Turkish origin does however, have just 12 months remaining on his current contract and has yet to sign an extension which has lead to speculation over his future.

The 23-year-old is currently on international duty with Germany and starred in the 7-0 victory over San Marino.

Can will feature in the Confederations Cup which could mean a late return to Liverpool’s pre-season and delay negotiations over a new contract deal.
