Revealed: Liverpool star will miss first friendly of the season, expected to be last player to report for pre-season

Liverpool star Emre Can will miss the Reds first training session of the summer on Wednesday at Melwood.

The Reds star is currently at the Confederations Cup on international duty with Germany.

The midfielder of Turkish origin will therefore miss Liverpool’s first friendly against Tranmere Rovers on 12 July.

Can is expected to be the last player to report for pre-season training due to international commitments.

The 23-year-old is likely to feature in the Confederations Cup final against Chile tonight in Russia.

Jurgen Klopp will have club captain Jordan Henderson, fit again after his foot problem, and Sadio Mane who has returned from injury.

Karius, Clyne, Matip, Joe Gomez and Ragnar Klaven are likely to be available.

Trabzonspor target Lucas Leiva has had no international duty and is likely to report for duty on Wednesday along with James Milner, Moreno and Stewart.

Galatasaray target Lazar Markovic would also join the squad after returning from loan.

Star players Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana, therefore, aren’t expected to feature on Wednesday, neither are new signings Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke.
