Revealed: West Ham boss Slaven Bilic could return to Turkey but for Besiktas’ rivals

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic will return to Turkey if he is sacked at the end of the season according to his former associate Aljosa Asanovic.

Asanovic hinted that if Bilic were to end up returning to Turkey it would be for Fenerbahce.

If Bilic took over Fenerbahce it would be a controversial move considering he used to coach Istanbul giants Besiktas – rivals of the Yellow Canaries.

“If the manager leaves England, he will return to Turkey, and he will challenge both his former team (Besiktas) and (Igor) Tudor (Galatasaray coach),” Asanovic was quoted as saying by Turkish sports media outlet Fotospor.

West Ham have had a disappointing season compared to the last campaign but they are currently sitting comfortably in mid-table on 33 points in 12th place.

Bilic coached Besiktas for two seasons during his stint in Turkey and is largely credited with building the foundations of the current side which lifted the league title last season.

The Croatian manager would be taking over current Fenerbahce coach Dick Advocaat.

Fenerbahce are expected to part ways with Advocaat after a disappointing season, the Istanbul based outfit are 4th in the Turkish league.
