‘Revenge’ – Graziani Reveals Why He Wants Liverpool In Roma Champions League Semi-Final Draw

Liverpool and Roma both pulled off upsets in the Champions League quarter-finals to progress to the semi-finals.

The Reds beat Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate, beating the Premier League leaders home and away to secure safe passage to the next round.

Roma meanwhile pulled off a bigger shot as almost everyone had ruled them out of the competition after losing 4-1 against Barcelona in the Camp Nou.

The Giallorossi managed to mount a comeback at home and beat Barca 3-0 to go through on away goals.

Former Roma player Francesco Graziani was part of the Roma side who lost on penalties in the European Cup final to Liverpool in 1984.

Graziani revealed that he wants Roma to draw Liverpool as it would be great for his former side to get revenge.

He told Tuttomercatoweb: “Liverpool, also because it seems to me that you can play against the English, and they give you a lot out of the ball.

“Yes, it would be a revenge, but I would love it as a spectator.”

Graziani also stated that he does not fear Reds star Mohamed Salah as Roma will know better than most how to deal with him considering the Egypt international used to play for the Italian giants.

He said: “The Egyptian is going really strong but it is also true that we know him better than the others.”

Roma replaced the Liverpool ace with Cengiz Under who has been nicknamed the new Salah.

Under provided the assist for the third and final goal that send Roma through to the next round.

The Turkey international also netted on his Champions League debut against Shakhtar Donetsk that took his side through to the quarter-finals on away goals.
