Sources suggest that A National Team coach Vincenzo Montella is considering inviting Uzun to the preliminary squad for upcoming matches against Hungary (March 22nd) and Austria (March 26th).

Uzun previously expressed his enthusiasm about representing Turkey: “Soykan Başar called my father and asked if I wanted to play for the Turkish National Team, and I was very happy. My dream was to play in the National Team. I am very proud to wear this jersey.”

The young striker, who caught the attention of top Turkish clubs, has been a standout for Nuremberg this season, scoring 14 goals and assisting on 3 others in 22 Bundesliga 2 matches. He previously represented the Turkish U17 National Team 12 times, scoring 7 goals.

Uzun will be hoping to be called up to the senior Turkish national team for the next call up and potentially make the squad for Euro 2024 this summer.

The striker has caught the attention of manager Vincenzo Montella and is expected to get his first cap in the friendly against Italy on June 4.
