Robert Pires Urges Arsenal To Sign Man United Star, Turkish Giants Also In Race After ‘Concrete Offer’

Arsenal legend Robert Pires has urged Arsenal to sign Man United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

The Gunners have been closely linked with the Belgium international and Pires feels he would make a good addition to the squad.

Asked whether the midfielder would be a good signing for the Gunners, Pires told Sky Sports: “Yeah, why not? Everybody knows Marouane Fellaini in the Premier League.

“Of course last season it was very, very difficult, the relation with Jose Mourinho.

“But I think he’s a good player, if he wants to join Arsenal I think it would be good news. ‘He needs a new start and I think, with his quality, I think he can help Unai Emery and he can help the Arsenal players in the squad.”

RMC Sport meanwhile report Fellaini only has two concrete offers, one from Besiktas and the other from an unnamed club in China.

Turkish-Football first reported the Black Eagles interest in the powerful midfielder back in November when club officials met Fellaini’s representatives.

Besiktas are considering a €5m per-year offer on a four-year deal.

The Istanbul giants are in the market for a powerful midfielder after parting ways with Anderson Talisca this summer.

The 30-year-old will compete for Belgium in the 2018 World Cup.

Fellaini will be a free agent at the end of the month unless he signs a contract extension with United.

The Manchester Evening News claim that the Red Devils still want Fellaini to stay on beyond the summer and that there is an offer on the table.
