Roma Team News: Key Players Rested Ahead Of Liverpool Clash

Roma take on Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final second-leg tie needing another miracle if they hope to book a place in the final.

The Giallorossi managed to turn around a 4-1 first-leg loss against Barcelona in the quarter-finals to win the return game 3-0 in Rome and go through on away goals.

The Serie A outfit need another victory by at least a three-goal scoreline if they want to stand any chance of progressing to the next round.

Head coach Eusebio Di Francesco faces a big decision over whether to stick with a 3-4-2-1 setup that failed in the first-leg against the Reds or switch back to a 4-3-3.

It Di Francesco goes for a three-back again it is likely to include Fazio and Manolas who were both rested on the weekend against Chievo.

De Rossi and Strootman did not do well in midfield against Liverpool in the first-leg but the head coach does not have many options so both are likely to start with Kolarov and Florenzi out wide.

Cengiz Under was also rested on the weekend and will be likely to start along with Nainggolan and Edin Dzeko.

If Di Francesco switches to a 4-3-3 we will still be likely to see Under, Strootman and Florenzi who were all rested.

The Turkey international stared in the first-leg but was substituted off during the half-time break.

The 20-year-old has been at his best playing in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 setup but Di Francesco has not yet revealed which formation he will be using.

Rick Karsdorp and Gregoire Defrel the only injury concerns for the home side.
