Ryan Babel reveals why Liverpool & Besiktas fans are very similar
Liverpool fans are world renowned for their support. Likewise Besiktas also enjoy terrific support from their fans.
One player who knows first-hand what it is like to play in-front of the KOP and the Besiktas ultras is Ryan Babel.
Babel revealed similarities between Liverpool and Besiktas fans in his recent interview with the official club magazine for the reigning Super Lig champions.
The experienced winger underlined his admiration for both sets of fans.

“I find Besiktas and Liverpool fans very similar,” Babel said.
“They are not bandwagon fans, they are there on the good days and the bad.
“They do not go missing when times are tough.
“The Besiktas fans are fantastic, they get us to perform at least 20 percent better, the strength they give us is unbelievable.”
The Dutch winger enjoyed a stint at Liverpool before becoming something of journeyman.
Babel finally joined Besiktas last January and has had a bit of a renaissance.
The 30-year-old has five goals and one assist in 10 appearances for the Black Eagles in all competitions this season.
Babel became the first Besiktas player to score in his first two Champions League group stage games after netting in the 3-1 win over Porto and the 2-0 victory against Leipzig.
