Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho could miss the trip to Istanbul ahead of the Europa League Round of 32 second-leg according to the Liverpool Echo.

The French international has started in the Reds last 16 games and has established himself as a key player in Brendan Rodgers’s three-man defence.

Dejan Lovren could replace Sakho if he fails to make the trip to Turkey. Alternatively Glen Johnson is also a candidate.

Liverpool won the first-leg at Anfield 1-0, keeping a clean sheet in the process.

The Reds did not concede on the weekend either as they beat Southampton 2-0 away to keep their chances of a top four finish in the Premier League alive.

Beşiktaş lost their Süper Lig game on the weekend 1-0 against Eskişehirspor to drop into second place.

The Black Eagles will be without first choice goalkeeper Tolgay Zengin as well as centre-back Ersan Gülüm and Ramon Motta due to suspension.

The return leg will be played at the Atatürk Olympic stadium in front of a full capacity.
