Schalke 04 wonderkid Ahmed Kutucu has not turned up to the Turkey U19 training camp due to illness, sources close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football.
Additionally, Kutucu has important exams which he will take over the international break.
There were fears in the Turkish media that Kutucu had snubbed Turkey.
The 19-year-old remains committed to the Turkish national team setup but Germany have been putting pressure on Kutucu to switch allegiances.
The powerful forward is an ethnic Turk born in Germany and is eligible to play for both countries at international level.
The rising star has represented Turkey at both U17 and U19 level.
Kutucu broke into the Schalke senior side this season and already has three goals in 13 appearances in all competitions.
The young striker rose through the youth ranks of the U19 side under the stewardship of highly acclaimed youth coach Norbert Elgert.
Elgert has been in charge of the Schalke under-19 side since 1996 and is responsible for producing some of the greatest talents in Germany football including Julian Draxler, Benedikt Howedes, Manuel Neuer, Mesut Ozil, Max Meyer and Leroy Sane.
Turkey U19s take on Scotland on March 20 followed by Portugal on 23 March and South Cyprus on 26 March. All three matches will be played in Portugal.
