The Serie A giants Inter Milan have been linked with a move for Fenerbahce left back Caner Erkin.
The Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web claim that the Nerazzurri are looking to sign the Turkish international over the summer.
Liverpool sent scouts to keep tabs on Caner a source close to both players told Turkish-football.com. The scouts were present at the Istanbul derby that saw Fenerbahce beat rivals Besiktas 2-0 at the Sukru Saracoglu to maintain their unbeaten home record this season.
The 27-year-old has under six months remaining on his current deal with Fenerbahce meaning Liverpool can hold direct talks with the player to sign him on a free.
Caner meanwhile has four assists this season and a wealth of experience playing for both Fenerbahce and their arch rivals Galatasaray as well as European experience at CSKA Moscow.
The attacking fullback has made 24 appearances for Fenerbahce this season, providing eight assist and has scored one goal.
