Serie A giants want to sign Liverpool star after facing competition from Man United for Nemanja Matic
Serie A giants Juventus are keen to bolster their midfielder options ahead of the upcoming season.
Juve want to take the next step and win the UEFA Champions League next season and feel that they need cover for an injury prone Sami Khadiera.
The Germany international came into the UEFA Champions League final last season carrying an injury. Juve had no option but to field Khadiera as they didn’t have cover for the defensive midfielder.
The Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport state that Juventus boss Massimiliano Alegri is keen on signing either Liverpool star Emre Can or Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic.

Nemanja Matic’s Chelsea career has been cast in doubt after he was left out of the pre-season squad by Antonio Conte. Emre Can meanwhile is on extended leave after representing Germany at the Confederations Cup.
Matic’s position is also under threat at Chelsea following the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco.
However, Juventus will face competition from Manchester United for the Serbia international’s signature. According to the Express, United are in pursuit of the powerful midfielder who is being valued at £40 million.
Liverpool meanwhile are in talks with Emre Can over a new deal and do not want the 23-year-old to leave. The Daily Mail claim that the former Bayer Leverkusen star is expected to extend his contract with the Merseyside based club.
Can was part of the Germany national team which won the Confederations Cup in Russia earlier this summer.
The 23-year-old also played a major role in Liverpool’s fourth place finish last season. Can registered three assists and five goals for the Reds in 40 appearances in all competitions.
