Emre Can wasn’t the only Germany international of Turkish decent on the field during Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Hoffenheim last night.

24-year-old Kerem Demirbay was one of the stars of the show despite being on the losing side against the Reds.

Demirbay played the full 90 minutes for Hoffenheim and posed a constant threat from set-pieces.

The midfield playmaker’s performance caused quite a stir on social media. Following the final whistle, we took to social media to see how Demirbay’s performance went down with Liverpool fans.

Demirbay suffered an injury in the final minutes of Tuesday night’s clash. The return leg will be played at Anfield on Wednesday August 23.

Hoffenheim take on Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Saturday 19 August.

Demirbay has made two appearances for the Germany national team. The 24-year-old provided ten assists and scored six goals in 29 appearances for Hoffenheim last season. The former Dortmund star has four years remaining on his contract with Hoffenheim.

Liverpool meanwhile host Crystal Palace this weekend as they look to record their first league victory over the season.
