Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the new manager of Besiktas, is reportedly interested in signing his former Manchester United protégé, Marcus Rashford.

Turkish journalist Gokmen Ozcan has claimed that Rashford is on Besiktas’ transfer shortlist as the club looks to strengthen its squad during the January transfer window.

Ozcan tweeted on X: “Beşiktaş Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s crazy transfer target: Marcus Rashford.

The Norwegian coach is personally involved in the signing of the 27-year-old left winger, with whom he worked together at Manchester United.”

Rashford has fallen out of favor at United under current manager Ruben Amorim and has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Solskjaer, who managed Rashford during his time at United, has previously praised the English forward’s talent, stating: “He runs in behind, he comes short, he can play a pass, he’s got individual skills. So, Marcus has got all the attributes to be a top forward.”

A move to Besiktas would be a huge coup for the Turkish giants but they face competition.

Rashford is reportedly prioritizing a move to Barcelona, although financial constraints may hinder the Spanish club’s ability to complete the transfer.

Solskjaer will be hoping to make an immediate impact at Besiktas, with his first game in charge coming against Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League.
