New Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dismissed speculation linking him with a move for former Manchester United players Marcus Rashford and Casemiro.

Both players have been the subject of transfer rumours in recent weeks, with Rashford struggling for game time under current United boss Ruben Amorim and Casemiro facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

However, Solskjaer has played down any interest in bringing the duo to Istanbul.

Speaking to reporters [via Metro], Solskjaer was asked about potentially signing Casemiro or Rashford in the winter transfer window: “There’s always a lot of speculation about Manchester United players, always a lot of speculation around me.”

“Casemiro, Marcus, two very good players, but I have not spoken to any of them.”

The Norwegian manager did admit that he does want to sign a few players to strengthen the squad.

“We are looking at possibilities for transfers in a few different positions,” he added.

“Serdar [Topraktepe], at the moment, is helping us a lot, he’s helping us a lot.

“It feels like the group, the energy, they are gelling well together, the coaches, the assistants, him and me.”

Solskjaer’s first game in charge of Besiktas will be against Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League this Thursday.
