Speculation is mounting that Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min could be on the verge of a surprising move to Turkish giants Fenerbahçe, where he would reunite with former manager Jose Mourinho.
Reports from Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu suggest that a meeting between the pair has recently taken place, with Son reportedly open to the prospect of joining the Super Lig club.
According to Fichajes, Fenerbahçe is prepared to offer Son a lucrative annual salary of €12 million, a substantial sum for a player entering the latter stages of his career.

This financial incentive, combined with the opportunity to work again with Mourinho, appears to be a significant draw for the South Korean international. Son and Mourinho previously collaborated for a season and a half at Tottenham, from 2019 to 2021, and are known to share a strong professional relationship.
Fichajes further indicates that a deal between the two clubs could be imminent. Son, currently under contract with Tottenham until 2026, would depart the North London club on a high note if the move materializes.
As captain, he recently lifted the Europa League trophy, ending Tottenham’s 17-year silverware drought. Throughout his illustrious career at Spurs, Son has been a prolific scorer, netting 173 goals in 454 appearances.
Following his recent international duties, Son is expected to meet with Tottenham’s new manager, Thomas Frank, to discuss his future plans.
However, the strong links to Fenerbahçe and the attractive offer on the table suggest that a move away from North London is a distinct possibility for the beloved Spurs captain.
