The Bundesliga side Wolfsburg has rejected a bid from Southampton for their star striker Bas Dost. Besiktas are also understood to be interested in signing the 27-year-old this summer.
A source close to the player has told Turkish-Football.com that Dost has received offers from Premier League sides – including Southampton – and the Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas.
The source also revealed that the Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have turned down all bids for their star striker.
Southampton are on the lookout for a new striker following reports linking Graziano Pelle with a move away from Saint Mary’s. The Mirror have reported that both Chelsea and Everton are interested in signing the Italy international.
Bas Dost joined Wolfsburg from SC Heerenveen for £6 million back in July 2012. The 27-year-old provided two assists and scored ten goals in 31 appearances for the Bundesliga side in all competitions.
Wolfsburg finished last season in eight place meaning that they will be without European football in the upcoming season.
