Southampton Boss Delivers Major Transfer Boost To Super Lig Giants After Confirming Transfer Target Is Free To Leave

Southampton manager Mark Hughes delivered Besiktas a major transfer boost after revealing he will allow him to leave and that the keeper is not ‘averse’ to a move abroad.

Hughes made it clear that there are clubs interested in the Saints shot-stopper.

“There are clubs in for Fraser,” said Southampton manager Mark Hughes. “He wants to play and I’ve told him he needs to play. He would not be averse to a move abroad.”

Foster has been linked with a summer exit after he lost his place in Southampton’s starting eleven.

The keeper has dropped down the pecking order and is now third-choice.

Alex McCarthy was promoted to first-choice keeper following a string of impressive performances for the Saints and Angus Gunn is waiting in line behind him.

Sources close to Besiktas have revealed to Turkish-Football that Forster is one of the names on their keeper shortlist.

The Black Eagles are looking to replace Fabri who was sold to Fulham on a £5.3m move last month.

The Istanbul giants were in talks with David Ospina before he joined Napoli on loan.

Liverpool duo Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius are targets but talks are at a standstill.

Forster has another four years remaining on his contract with the Premier League side.

Besiktas would be prepared to offer the keeper a first-team role this season but want him on loan.
