Southampton offer £16m record signing out to Turkish giants Besiktas

Southampton are looking to offload their flamboyant forward Sofieane Boufal this summer.

According to the daily Turkish newspaper Fanatik, the Saints have offered Boufal out to Besiktas.

Per the source, Besiktas have the opportunity to loan Boufal with an option to buy included. Fanatik go onto state that Besiktas are consulting manager Senol Gunes on the matter.

The Black Eagles are on the lookout for a new attacking midfielder following the departure of Anderson Talisca over the summer.

Besiktas are set to revamp their squad over the summer after ending the 2017/18 term down in fourth spot. The Istanbul giants will subsiquently miss out on UEFA Champions League football this season.

Southampton broke their transfer fee record to sign Boufal from Lille for £16 million back in 2016.

The Morroco international has however struggled to impress since his move and managed just two assists and two goals in 26 Premier League appearances last season.
