Caglar Soyuncu has been one of the most in-form players for Leicester City this season.

Soyuncu filled in for Harry Maguire following his big-money move to Manchester United last summer.

The Turkey international feels there is still a lot more he can learn from star players in the Premier League, Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk in particular.

Soyuncu believes that Van Dijk is the best defender in the league right now.

The 24-year-old told Sky Sports: “I always watch and learn from other players.

“There are so many great defenders in this league. I wouldn’t limit myself to only watching one or two teams and their players, there are so many quality players in the Premier League and I try to watch and learn from many others.

“There are so many good centre-backs playing in this league but I have to say Van Dijk is top of that list and where they [are] in the league and how he’s done shows that.”

The Reds are the only side that have conceded fewer league goals than Leicester this season. Soyuncu has played an integral role in the Foxes stellar defense this term.

Leicester have struggled since the restart following coronavirus disruptions drawing against Watford and Brighton while bowing out of the FA Cup quarter-finals against Chelsea.

The Foxes are currently third in the league but Chelsea are just one point behind them in 4th while Manchester are just three points behind in 5th place – having played an additional game.
