Germany international playmaker Mesut Ozil put pen-to-paper on a new deal with the north London based club earlier this week.

The 29-year-old was linked with a move away from the north London based club after entering the final five months of his contract. Ozil could have even ended up leaving the club for free in the summer.

The new deal made Ozil the highest paid player in Arsenal’s history.

Ozil’s teammate Mohamed Elneny has revealed that he spoke to the Germany international about his contract situation. The Egyptian midfielder confirmed that Ozil has put pen-to-paper on a new contract.
