Star striker set for surprise Tottenham return – Euro giants target Samuel Eto’o as replacement

Star striker Vincent Janssen could be on his way back to Tottenham in January as Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce are considering terminating his loan deal.

The Netherlands international has struggled with injuries since his arrival in Istanbul and could be ruled out for a further three months with a toe injury.

According to the daily Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Fenerbahce are looking into the possibility of sending Janssen back if doctors believe the 23-year-old is unlikely to feature again this season.

Per the source, Tottenham have been made aware of the situation.

The report goes on to state that Fenerbahce have already begun the search for Janssen’s replacement and have been linked with a move for the former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o.

Janssen joined Fenerbahce on a 12-month loan deal from Tottenham over the summer transfer window. The powerful striker has however managed to score just two goals in 11 appearances.
