‘My statistics do the talking’ – Arsenal star slams his critics questioning his ‘style’

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has hit back at critics questioning his style and body language.

The Germany international of Turkish origin has revealed that he is not interested about what people say about him.

Ozil stated that he should be judged on his statistics.

“But I’m not interested in what people say about my style or my body language. What is most important for me is, and always has, been the coach,” Ozil was quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.

“My statistics do the talking and show I give my all, people may sometimes think that I don’t give everything but that is not true. I always want to be successful that is how I have been and how I will always be.”

The Arsenal playmaker has come under fire from sections of the press and fan base this season but his statistics actually make impressive reading.

The 28-year-old has 11 goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season.

Last season Ozil provided the highest number of assists in the league (19).

No other player in the Premier League has provided more assists since he joined Arsenal in 2013 (43).

Ozil has a total of 31 goals and 55 assists in 157 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions since joining from Real Madrid in 2013.

The World Cup winner will have just 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season and has yet to decide whether he will extend his deal over the summer.
