Stats Show Man United Boss Is Better Than Guardiola At Changing Games, Only Senol Gunes Has Better Record

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is often praised for his ability to change games with his substitutes.

It turns out Mourinho actually has the best record in the Premier League when it comes to makes important switches – when compared to the top five European leagues, among managers who have been in charge for more than 10 games this season.

The Portuguese manager’s substitutes have resulted in a goal at a ratio of 0.52 per game.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola came narrowly in second.

Guardiola’s changes have scored just one goal fewer than Mourinho’s 10 but have the same number of assists (15).

Mourinho does however, have some competition.

Besiktas manager Senol Gunes has the best record in Europe – when compared to the top five leagues.

Gunes has a 0.58 record from the 24 games he has managed this season in the league.

The Black Eagles boss has seen his subs score five times and provide nine assists.

Alvaro Negredo has two goals and five assists, Vagner Love has netted twice, Caner has two assists, Medel and Quaresma have an assist each and Cenk Tosun – who now plays for Everton – has one goal.

Besiktas have won the Super Lig for the past two seasons and is in the running to defend the title this term.

Gunes also guided the Istanbul giants to the Champions League Last 16.
