Luis Suarez praised Uruguayan international Fernando Muslera and former Liverpool teammate Dirk Kuyt ahead of the Intercontinental derby.

“I spend two years playing with Kuyt at Liverpool, he really helped me settle into England,” Suarez told Fanatik.

“We still see each other often, he is a real professional.

“It doesn’t matter if it is training or a competitive game he always give it his all.

“I wish both my friends Kuyt and Muslera good luck in the derby.

“Muslera is a great keeper, everyone knows how good he is, he will be a big advantage for Galatasaray.”

Kuyt joined Liverpool in 2006 from Dutch giants Feyenoord and went onto represent the Reds 285 times, scoring 71 goals in addition to 38 assists.

The Dutch international scored against AC Milan in the 2006-07 Champions League final for Liverpool.

Kuyt left Liverpool for Turkish giants Fenerhbaçe in the summer of 2012.

Suarez joined Liverpool in 2011 and made 110 appearances before joining Barcelona for £75 million.

The Barcelona striker and Muslera are still teammates for the Uruguayan national team.

Fenerbahçe face Galatasaray at the Türk Telekom Arena on Saturday 18 October.
