Sunderland boss Moyes slams ‘disgrace’ Jeremain Lens
Sunderland manager David Moyes has slammed the Netherlands international winger Jeremain Lens, following the 29-year-old’s recent comments.
Lens – who is currently on a season-long loan at Fenerbahce – was quoted as saying he hoped the Black Cats would get relegated from the Premier League.
The former PSV Eindhoven star was quoted by the Turkish media as saying that his wish to become a Fenerbahce player permanently may be more likely if Sunderland get relegated.
“It’s disgracefully disrespectful to the club which holds his registration,” Moyes was quoted by the Guardian as saying.
“You hate to think of anyone connected to this club saying that.
“A lot of team-mates here who he played with are fighting every week with a small squad to try to keep us in the Premier League. It’s a disgrace to say that about your parent club.”
A source close to the Turkish giants recently revealed to Turkish-Football.com that Sunderland are will not hold talks for any fee below £8 million.
Fenerbahce’s transfer activity is also restricted by Fifa Fair-play guidelines which would make it difficult for the Yellow Canaries to meet the price Sunderland have set.
Lens has recorded three goals and providing eight assists in all competitions for Fenerbahce so far this season.

Sunderland are currently 19th in the Premier League with just 15 points after 21 games but can escape the drop zone if they can record a victory over Burnley this weekend.

Lens is expected to feature for Fenerbahce when they take on league leaders Istanbul BB this weekend.
The Istanbul giants find themselves in forth place with 32 points after 17 rounds. Dick Advocaat’s side were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw with relegation battlers Adanaspor leaving them seven points off top spot.
Fenerbahce could find themselves ten points off top spot if they are defeated by leaders Istanbul BB on Sunday.
