Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas have set their sights on Sunderland star midfielder Wahbi Khazri.

According to Fotomac, the Black Eagles have tabled an offer to take Khazri on loan for two years.

Per the source, Sunderland are having trouble finding a buyer for the Tunisia international due to his £37,000-a-week wages.

Fotomac go onto state that the Black Cats are however reluctant to allow Khazri to leave on loan this summer.

Khazri is currently on international duty with Tunisia at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Besiktas are expected to revamp their squad over the summer following a turbulent season.

Despite advancing to the last-16 on the UEFA Champions League, Besiktas ended the Turkish Super Lig in fourth place and will only play Europa League football next season.

Sunderland meanwhile were relegated to League one after finishing the Championship in 24th place.

Khazri spent the season out on loan at Stande Rennais and scored 11 goals in 34 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.
