Sunderland set to receive bid for star midfielder, Besiktas manager wants deal wrapped up soon

Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas are set to step up their pursuit of Sunderland star midfielder Whabi Khazri.

The Tunisia international is expected to leave the Black Cats following their relegation to League one.

According to the Turkish outlet HaberTurk, manager Senol Gunes has urged Besiktas officials to sign Khazri.

Per the source, Gunes has been impressed with Khazri’s performances this season and more so during Tunisia’s clash with England.

The experienced tactician wants the deal wrapped up as soon as possible, Besiktas are now set to table an offer to Sunderland.

HaberTurk go onto state that Besiktas will table a two-year loan offer for the 27-year-old midifelder. The Black Eagles also want to include a release clause in the deal and are prepared to add a sell-on fee percentage for Sunderland.

Khazri spent the season out on loan at France Ligue 1 side where he scored nine goals in 24 appearances.
