Sunderland star striker Jermain Defoe in talks over shock move to Turkish minnows

Sunderland top goal-scorer Jermain Defoe has been linked with a shock move to Antalyaspor.

According to FutbolArena, the Turkish minnows are already in talks with the England international striker.

Per the source, Antalyaspor president Ali Safak Ozturk has confirmed that they are working to bring two star players to Antalya this summer.

Ozturk went onto state that Sunderland’s Defoe is a prime target.

Former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o and former Tottenham midfielder Sandro both currently play for Antalayaspor.

Defoe is expected to leave Sunderland at the end of the season. The Black Cats have already been relegated from the Premier League following a disastrous campaign.

David Moyes’ side sit at the bottom of the Premier League table with just 24 points after 35 games.

Defoe has provided two assists and scored 15 goals in 35 league appearances for Sunderland this season.

The 34-year-old has scored over half of all of Sunderland’s goals this term. Defoe also earned himself a call-up to the England national team earlier this year.
