Sunderland transfer news: Star winger on verge of loan deal to Euro giants

Sunderland winger Jeremain Lens is on the verge of extending his stay at Fenerbahce.

The Turkish outlet AMK state that Fener have been locked in talks with the Premier League club in recent weeks.

Per the source, Fenerbahce are close to agreeing a one-year extension on Lens’ loan deal. The Netherland’s international is currently on loan at Fenerbahce from Sunderland.

AMK go onto state that Lens’ is happy at Fenerbahce and wants to remain at the Istanbul based club for the foreseeable future.

Lens scored during Fenerbahce’s 3-1 victory over Akhisar. The experienced winger was the star of the show and was awarded the Man of the Match.

The Yellow Canaries leapfrogged their rivals Galatasaray into third place following their weekend win.

Fenerbahce will need to make up six points on Istanbul Basaksehir if they are to stand a chance of finishing second and qualifying to the Champions League.

Lens has provided 14 assists and five goals in 29 apperances for Fenerbahce this season.
