Swansea City face major competition from Euro giants in race to sign Belgium U21 international

Swansea City are set to face major competition in the race to sign Chievo midfielder Samuel Bastien.

According to the Italian outlet L’Arena, Galatasaray have been in contract with the Italian club regarding the availability of the Belgium U21 international.

Per the source, Galatasaray made an approach for the Bastien in January but were unable to strike a deal with the Serie A club.

Meanwhile, deputy news editor of The Guardian Ed Aarons recently reported that  Swansea City have also shown an interested in signing Bastien.

It is unclear how much Chievo are demanding for the talented midfielder. The Italian club signed Bastien for €2.5million from Anderlecht back in August 2016.

Liverpool were also linked with a move for the midfielder back in 2016 according to the Daily Mail.

Swansea City are back in action this weekend when they take on Manchester United in the Premier League at Old Trafford. Galatasaray meanwhile host their rivals Trabzonspor at the Turk Telekom Stadium.
