Swansea City Give Fenerbahce Buyout Clause Option As Part Of Andre Ayew Deal

Andre Ayew has joined Fenerbahce on a one-year loan deal from Swansea, the Welsh club have announced.

Swans manager Graham Potter praised the striker for his professionalism on the official club website.

“I understand the circumstances of the move – it’ part of the restructure of us going forward,” Potter said.

“From my perspective he has been brilliant. He has applied himself in training, supported what we are trying to do and been very professional. He has been a joy to work with and we wish him the best.”

Fenerbahce have released an official statement confirming that Ayew will undergo his medical tomorrow before completing his loan move.

The statement has also made it clear that a buyout clause option has been included in the deal.

The buyout fee figure has however, not been disclosed.

The Ghana international parted ways with Swansea today, leaving the pre-season tour in Austria to prepare for his trip to Turkey.

The 28-year-old joined Swansea on an £18 million [BBC] move from West Ham in January but failed to score a single goal since completing the transfer.

Ayew will be registered in time to make the Yellow Canaries Champions League Third-Round clash against Benfica in Portugal on 7 August.

The striker will join Roberto Soldado as the second first-choice striker available to manager Phillip Cocu.

The Super Lig outfit will sign one more striker before the end of the transfer window.
